TOURNAMENT RULES 2008

All teams and players participating must be registered and in good standing with their local USYSA/USSF/FIFA organizations. All teams must have and bring to the tournament, a completed roster and player passes with photo ID's.

Teams from out of state require an official permission to travel papers.

The maximum number of players on the roster is 18 including 3 guest players. Teams playing 6v6 (U9/U8) will have a maximum roster of 14 including 2 guest players.

No player shall be allowed to register for more than one team or switch from one team to another during the tournament.

All age groups will be divided into mini-groups of 3, 4 or 5 teams. After round -robin play the TOP teams will go to a single elimination playoff (U8 - U14).

EACH TEAM WILL PLAY A MINIMUM OF 3 GAMES

We reserve the right to combine age groups if there is not a sufficient number of teams in any category. The coaches or team manager of any teams involved will be contacted prior to the tournament for their approval.

We will be using all licensed referees for a three-man system for age groups U12 - U14. For ages U8 - U11 we will be using one licensed referee for the center and the club will supply one linesman for each game. We reserve the right to alter game times, shorten game times and even eliminate non-essential games in case of inclement weather.

Any games interrupted due to weather will be decided by the tournament committee as to its completion or termination.

A match will be considered forfeited if a team is more than 5 minutes late for a scheduled match.

A forfeited game is a 3 / 0 game. A minimum of 7 players is required for ages U11 - U14 and 5 players for U8 - U10.

Teams that forfeit because they cannot advance will not be accepted in any future tournaments.

Teams that forfeit a non-essential game to rest players will be disqualified.

The Referee will not stop play for substitutions, only for serious injury or time wasting.

Player Disqualification: Red Carded players will be disqualified for the next one scheduled game. This includes semi-finals and finals.

The Players Equipment, states that "a player may not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewelry)." USSF guidance to referees has always been that jewelry or clothing that might otherwise be prohibited could nevertheless be worn if: It was clearly religious or medical in nature and the referee decided that it was not dangerous.

In round robin play a point system will be used to determine placement within their division

    • 6 points for a WIN
    • 3 points for a TIE
    • 0 points for a LOSS
    • 1 bonus point for a shut out
    • 1 point for each goal scored up to a maximum of 3 (WIN or LOSE)

Standings in each group will be determined by or in the event of a tie when deciding a group, winner or wild card, the following will be the breaking:

    • a. Points
    • b. Head to Head games
    • c. Goals against
    • d. Goals for
    • e. coin toss

In single elimination games if the game is tied at the end of regulation time, games will be decided by:

    • 1. Penalty Kicks

 

If a team cancels after acceptance into the tournament, the team will forfeit its entry fee.

To enter, send the completed from (1 form for each team) along with the entry fee to the address shown, by the entry deadline. Additional copies of this form may be duplicated.

You will be notified of your acceptance no later than 30 days before the tournament. If you are not accepted, your entry fee will be returned.

Players' Emergency Medical Release & Liability Waivers will be kept by the tournament officials and will not be returned after the tournament.

Players having to wear glasses while they are playing must wear sport goggles

Tournament Cancellation: If the tournament committee cancels the tournament prior to the start of any game. There will be a Full Refund. Once games are played a percentage of money will be deducted based on the number of games played.
